Team Pakistan starts training sessions in Derby

Pakistan are currently gearing up for the upcoming white-ball assignment against England. After a three-day quarantine period, the players have now started batting, bowling and fielding sessions in Derby.

The players will train under the supervision of head coach Misbah-ul-Haq for at least four hours daily. The national squad of Pakistan also went through rapid Covid-19 testing earlier and all of them have returned negative tests.

The squad members took part in rigorous training sessions as they prepare for the ODI series starting on July 8. After the conclusion of the ODI series, the Babar Azam-led side will partake in as many T20Is against the hosts.

The national contingent left for England following the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Mohammad Rizwan, who captained Multan Sultans to their maiden PSL title win, is also upbeat for the forthcoming England challenge.

“Our morale is really high after the recent successful series and we are hoping for a good contest against the hosts in the upcoming series. Everyone knows about Babar’s potential, skills and experience and he is capitalizing all that stuff pretty well,” Rizwan stated in a press conference on Tuesday.
